Day 1: Arrival in Sydney / Sydney Harbour Cruise Arriving in Sydney, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation for the next three nights. Positioned on the edge of the world’s most stunning harbour, your hotel overlooks the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Royal Botanic Gardens. Steps away are the central business district, the historic Rocks area, leading shops and boutiques, and some of the finest restaurants this city has to offer. Situated at Circular Quay, this Sydney hotel was once the site of the first Government House and later the Treasury Building. It now blends contemporary style with 19th century architecture. Beyond your guestroom discover the outstanding facilities and services of the hotel, from the rooftop lounge, to the panoramic views afforded by the indoor swimming and fitness facilities on level 31.
This afternoon, be engulfed by the beauty and magic of Sydney as you cruise like a local for four hours aboard Calypso, a 52-foot Motor Yacht. Cruise the foreshores of Sydney Harbour past the world famous, iconic landmarks including The Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Opera House before dropping anchor in a secluded cove, where you'll enjoy a gourmet barbecue lunch. Go for a swim, kayak into the beach for an ice cream, try your luck fishing or just relax on the expansive sunbeds soaking up the Sydney sunshine. Whatever your desire, this is your chance to cruise like a local and truly enjoy this quintessential Australian experience.
Day 2: Sydney Tour After breakfast, you will meet your friendly tour guide. The day begins with a drive through Sydney's historic Rocks precinct. Witness the birth place of Sydney and explore the convict built cottages, pubs and the first church in Australia.
You'll soon head east and make your way to the stunning botanical gardens situated right in the heart of Sydney. En route, pass through Macquarie Street named after the fifth Governor of New South Wales, Lachlan Macquarie. Here you will see Australia's first Parliament House, Mint, Hyde Park Barracks and St Mary's Cathedral. The tour continues onto Mrs Macquarie's Chair situated on the water's edge, here you will enjoy a walking tour of the harbour's edge with magnificent views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House before rejoining your vehicle.
Continue through Woolloomooloo, Kings Cross and into Rushcutters bay. Here you'll stop to enjoy a lunch at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Australia's premier yacht club and home to what is considered yachting's Everest' the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
After lunch travel through Darling Point, one of Sydney's most affluent suburbs and see some of Sydney's most sought after addresses. Pass by Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and Watsons Bay, before traversing along the coastline to Sydney's most famous beach, Bondi Beach. Here you will have some time to soak up the atmosphere of this beachside Mecca. Stroll down the esplanade with the locals and maybe enjoy an ice cream before re-boarding your vehicle.
Finally, make your way back to Sydney via the vibrant Oxford Street and the suburb of Paddington; admire this boutique shopping precinct and the charming Georgian and Victorian architecture of the homes. You will arrive back at your hotel after a great day out seeing some of Sydney's best kept secrets and having taken some fantastic photos.
Day 3: Day at Leisure in Sydney/ Sydney Opera House Performance Today is a day that you can spend at leisure in Sydney, sightseeing and relaxing on your last day in the city. You may choose to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Sydney Aquarium, or the Rocks area of the city, browsing boutiques and stopping for lunch in one of the many outdoor cafes or restaurants. Alternatively, select a suggested sightseeing experience in Sydney to add to your itinerary.
Tonight will be memorable - you'll watch an opera, ballet or symphony performance at the Sydney Opera House.
Day 4: Fly to Ayers Rock / Kata Tjuta and Dunes Tour This morning after breakfast you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ayers Rock. Your hotel for two nights is Ayers Rock's premier hotel. Exquisitely furnished and designed, the interior decor focuses on Aboriginal heritage and culture, with a gallery in the lobby and significant artworks featured throughout the public areas and in the private rooms.
This afternoon's Kata Tjuta and Dunes tour takes you to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to a place where unique flora and fauna thrive, Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Here your guide will reveal the many attributes of this diverse environment and describe the cultural significance of Kata Tjuta as a sacred Aboriginal men's ceremonial site. Arriving at Walpa Gorge you will walk between the mighty conglomerate domes and hear how these 36 domes that make up Kata Tjuta have evolved over millions of years. Take time to listen to the wind (Walpa) far above and view the scale of the rock walls that surround you. The spirituality of this amazing location embraces everyone who ventures here. Day 5: Spirit of Uluru / Dining under the stars As you travel towards Uluru its vast shape rises from the sand dunes in the early dawn light highlighting its presence in this country. Your guide will take you to a special location to watch the sun rise over this amazing monolith. You will lean the Creation stories of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python) and hear about the Mala people. After breakfast you will visit Mutijulu Waterhole and then drive around the base of the Uluru before returning to the resort.
Dine under a canopy of desert stars 'Tali Wiru', meaning beautiful dune in local Anangu language, encapsulates the magic of fine dining under the Southern Desert sky. Instead of walls, this open-air restaurant has magnificent views of Uluru and the distant domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), and for music there's the stillness of the desert at night. Relax with Champagne and canapés around a firepit while you watch the sun set. As day turns to night, stroll to the top of the dune for a table d'hote four-course dinner, matched with premium Australian wines. The contrast between the spectacular natural setting and the world-class gastronomic adventure on your plate is simply awe-inspiring. Day 6: Fly to Cairns/ transfer to Port Douglas After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairns. Upon arrival, your hotel - bautifully located on the beachfront at the end of 4-Mile Beach, is just 5km from the Port Douglas town centre. Situated in a region of irresistible natural beauty, with the Great Barrier Reef, the World Heritage listed Rainforest and shimmering blues and greens of the Coral Sea.
Day 7: Cruise the Great Barrier Reef ~ Snorkeing and/or Diving Departing Port Douglas marina at 8:30am, Synergy will whisk you away for two hours of sailing to our outer reef destination of Tongue Reef. You will spend over 3 hours at one exclusive reef site where you will enjoy snorkelling over waters teaming with coral, reef fish and amazing marine life. Lunch is a gourmet affair with reef fish, chicken and prawns cooked on the BBQ and accompanied with spectacular assortment of salads, breads, fruits and dessert. A complimentary guided snorkelling tour is offered after lunch followed by a relaxing sail home for a 4pm arrival back at Port Douglas.
Day 8: Daintree - Rainforest & Beaches This small group tour travels through rich farming areas north of Cairns toward the World Heritage-Listed forest region of the Daintree National Park. The group steps aboard its own personalized craft for a cruise on the mirrored, smooth waters of the Daintree River. Cruise close to the riverbanks and under the overhead canopy of the rainforest seeking out the vivid Ulysses butterfly and kingfishers and through silent backwaters where you may see crocodiles basking on the muddy banks.
Your journey takes you up the beautiful Alexandra Range passing through rainforest to Jindalba, an area of protected forests and ancient plants, and the magical Thornton Beach “where rainforest meets the sea”. Be one of the few people on this stretch of beach before a delicious lunch of local tropical produce. Enjoy a private rainforest walk and look out for lizards, birds, butterflies and perhaps even marsupials before continuing on to visit an orchard of exotic fruit. The last stop and final lasting impression will be at the outstanding panoramic picture postcard view at Alexandra Range Lookout. From here you will have a spectacular view of the mouth of the Daintree River, Snapper Island and on a clear day Port Douglas.
Day 9: Syrail Rainforest Cableway / Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park & Kuranda Scenic Rail - Full Day Tour Your tour today starts with a journy on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway - the region's oldest railway and the world's most beautiful Cableway. Be amazed as you glide silently over the rainforest canopy to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. On arrival, meet your Indigenous guide who will show you through the remainder of the Park, including bush food demonstrations, didgeridoo demonstrations, movie theatres, fire making demonstrations and the famous Tjapukai Dance Troupe. Enjoy a buffet lunch in the Boomerang Restaurant. Then board Skyrail to Kuranda. Here you have some free time to explore the unique shops and Kuranda Village. Joining the Kuranda Scenic Rail (with preferential seating) which winds over bridges and through tunnels to Freshwater Station. You will be met and transferred back to your hotel.
Day 10: Transfer to Airport After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight.
